FIRE DANGER MAP
We are the volunteer fire department serving the Dolores River Canyon and the Unaweep Canyon of Western Colorado. Our force provides service to approximately 900 square miles of open range, farming, BLM, forest, residential and ranching area protecting the lives and property of over 300 residents of the Gateway community and western portions of the Whitewater community. Our services include Fire Fighting, EMS, First Response, Community Awareness and Fund Raising.
We have nine response vehicles in our fleet. These include our 700 gallon Pirsch engine, one 300 gallon 4WD brush truck, one 1000 gallon 6WD water tender, one 2100 gallon water tender, two 300 gallon rescue trucks, one 1200 gallon water tender and two 4WD ambulances.
