VIRTUE - Ruth
The story of Ruth’s conversion to the true and living God of Israel is one of the more beautiful stories of the Old Testament. Ruth was unusual in that the roots of her people were buried deep in pagan beliefs, yet her heart and mind were pure enough for the whisperings of the Holy Spirit to reach her. Her virtue and sweet spirit kept the conduit open between herself and the Lord, thus making personal revelation possible and her testimony strong enough to endure the trials of her life. Her happiness and success were because of her Virtue. Had she been a young woman of loose morals, Boaz would not have protected her, or later married her. She was the wife of Boaz, the mother of Omer, the grandmother of Jessie, the great grandmother of King David, a distant grandmother of Jesus Christ and a virtuous role model for us today.
